MR. SUN: 1 --- STEAK: 0

My dad, Mr. David Sun, is absolutely and completely obsessed with BBQ'ing. I don't know why or exactly how long this has been going on, but it's serious.  If the sun so much as peaks out... meats should run for cover.  This is for you, little scallops, Costco hot dogs, and slabs of cow-- who have fallen victim to my dad's BBQ and our appetite.  Don't worry for you have not left this world in vain.  The flamingo toothpicks are thanks to my wonderful step mom, May.  She always finds random cute things!  We've also got stack-able cow mixing bowls (my personal favorite).

Good Eats! & Maurice (Kai's Bistro)

Hi All!

If you guys know me, you probably know that I bar tended here at Kai's Bistro and Lounge on University Ave during my senior year of college.  This is my personal favorite from Kai's, the Crying Tiger Wrap (it's filled with Crying Tiger--beef skewers)Sadly, it is no longer on the menu, but you can still ask for it if!

And you know what else? Maurice always knows what's up.  Just look at that smile :)  He may be from Salvador, but he's damn good in the fusion foods business.

 See you soonDaisy

Good Eats! (Cedar's on the Ave)

Cedars owners John and his wife Janette pour their hearts and souls into making the finest Lebanese food around.  With dreams of opening a restaurant, John came to Seattle and took apprenticeship at a Greek restaurant.  Since then he has opened two restaurants in the Seattle area.  As John says, "A happy heart is a healthy heart, and a healthy heart is a healthy life."  If you're in the area, you must check out the Falafels!

Good Eats! (Peso's and Chandler's Crabhouse)

Last week, my boyfriend Robbie and I ventured around town for the usual late night drinks and some goodies to munch on.  I was so hungry that I forgot to take photos of the food at Peso's in Lower Queen Anne, and so excited for the food, that I forgot to take photos of Chandler's on Eastlake... I'll make sure to post some more for next time!

P.S. Chander's has Happy Hour all night from 4-close! Check it out ;)

Thailand (leg 3 of journey) Summer 2011

Oopsie daisy... Looks like I'm just all over the place with the dates of my travels! This is the Thailand leg of our South Asia adventure from this past summer of 2011.  We had no plans with where to stay, so we just winged it all around Thailand! Not too shabby if you ask me; we ended up checking out Phuket, Krabi, Phi Phi, and Bangkok. These are just some shots from the  Phi Phi and Bangkok part of our trip ;)

Two of my good friends Anthony and Maddy (they're twins!)
Pineapple Fried Rice...or maybe it was curry...
Fire show on the beach
Adam, our trusty Thai tour guide (and of course friend from UW)
Oh yeah, and our original plan was to hit Koh Panghan's Full Moon Party...but that didn't work out so we just chilled with each other and saw some awesome ladyboys.  At some point, we ended up in a bar where the DJ was throwing money everywhere! Scored 20 Bhat!! That's almost 75 cents!!!

Further back in time ... December 2010 Switzerland!

A couple summer ago, I hopped on board with my dad for a business trip to Switzerland and Germany! My friend Torben, who I met in Shanghai is from Zurich, so we ran around town for a few days.   Here are some photos from the train ride from Zurich to Laussane.  It was just as cold as it looked! Cheers to 20$ beers.

Looks like i'm posting backwards in time...
Anyway, last summer I went on a South Asia trip to Bali, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.  This is the first leg of my journey with my boyfriend Robbie; we rode the circumference of 250km around Bali in 5 days...and I only wiped out twice (see hospital photo below)...

Some cute kids we met who were selling rock salt harvested from the sea
Best service I've ever received from any hospital!
Checked out the Bali Bird Park
Continuing the theme... to our swan towel at the hotel

Until Next Time, Daisy
